SUN DAVID, away sluggishly and outrun to the stretch, was caught in close quarters at the final turn, raced strongly when clear and wore down BLACK MAIN in the concluding strides. BLACK MAIN raced well placed from the start, was forced slightly wide at the final turn, took command between calls during the drive, but was unable to withstand SUN DAVID. GOLLY, away fast, raced with MARY H. until inside the stretch, then faltered. IN CLOVER lacked early speed, then finished fast. EPIC KING, never far back but on the outside, failed to rally when set down in the drive. BIG MONEY tired after racing well to the stretch. MARY H., fractious during the post parade, began fast, made the pace to the last eighth of a mile, then gave way. LORI-JANE could not keep up. SECOND AVENUE was never dangerous and had no mishap. PASTORAL steadily worked way forward to the stretch, disposed of the leaders when set down in the drive and held SKY CAPERS safe. The latter, well placed early, was forced to the outside during the stretch run and could not reach the winner, although much the best of the others. GOLD MEDAL, never far back and racing next to the inner rail, made a bold bid in the early stretch, then weakened. FIGHTING BARB went to the front early, set the pace to the last eighth mile, then tired. SERGEANT SPOOK gave a good effort and had no mishap. HERES JAKE was never dangerous. ROMP AND PLAY could not keep up after beginning fast. SPEEDY FOOT raced wide. PVT. SAM drifted out during the last three-eighths mile. DESTROYER showed nothing. MIKE THE CRIER began sluggishly. MISS PLEASURE, hustled after the break to reach serious contention, tired badly during the stretch run. DIRECT NORTH went to the front early, saved ground while setting the pace to the stretch, responded willingly when set down in the drive and held TIGER FLAME safe. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, closed determinedly, but could not get to the top one. BOBTAIL WILLIE made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. MIDLAND TRAIL tired during the stretch run. HERES COLINA weakened after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. SIX-THREE-FOUR was never dangerous. PRINCE CONSORT began sluggishly and pulled up lame. POLYCHREST was through early. MR. NEAL showed little. HARLEM SQUARE raced wide throughout, losing all chance.
