ROSA, restrained off the pace while saving ground 1o the final turn, was eased to the outside to make her bid, wore down the leaders with a rush in the early stretch and was hard ridden to hold ARIEL SWEEP safe. The latter was taken in hand early, moved through bftween horses when called upon and finished with good courage. CHERISHED was forced to race wide and dosed a big gap in the late stages. ARMED BANDIT found his best stride too late and was easily best of the others. CRUSADE showed speed for a half mile. JUKE was always far back. MR. BUSINESS was used up in vying for the early lead. BURNT THROAT, badly outrun early, came to the extreme outside to make her bid on entering the stretch and was up inside the final sixteenth. NEARWAYS f LASH was never a great distance back, raced on the outside while wearing down the leaders between calls in ihe stretch but was not quite good enough. EVEN SO was well placed but lacked a closing rally. AWAKEN saved ground to no avail. BARLBOUD faltered after making a mild rally on entering the stretch. HONEY BEIGE showed speed for five-eighths. LITTLE FERD had speed from the start, raced a trifle wide and just failed to last. MR. DUBUQUE had no apparent excuse in an even effort. CHERIBEACON found his best stride too late. SOONER TIME was forced to race wide and made up some ground. EMBOSS appeared to falter slightly after making a menacing bid on the stretch turn. ABE SHUSHAN had speed for a half mile. RUGGED ODDS found his best stride too late. WISE SEER was never a serious factor. BOFRANC was always far back. JANTEMBER showed some early speed. ANSWER MAN was through early.
