Balmoral, formerly Lincoln Fields, will i stage its inaugural 30-day meeting at 1 Washington Park beginning May 16 as the first phase of a continuous 97-day Spring-E Summer program coordinated with Arling-5 ton Park -Washington Park. Racing Secretary Fredrick G. "Pat" Far-s rell announced that some of the nations ; top handicap and two-year-old filly stars have been nominated for Balmorals three opening-week stakes — the 5,000 added La Salle Handicap opening day, next Mon- day: the 0,000 added Miss Chicago Stakes, Wednesday, May 18: and the 5,000 added Continental Turf Handicap, Saturday, May 21. The La Salle has attracted 26 seasoned 1 sprinters.- Hasty House Farm leads the nominators with a strong trio headed by Sea O Erin, winner of four consecutive stakes including the 0,000 New Orleans Handicap. His stablemates, Torch of War winner of the Churchill Downs Handicap and Hasty Drive, round out the Allie E. Reuben contingent. Spur On and Two Fisted, stable stars of | the Marvin E. Affeld establishment, also are numbered among the nominees. Spur On has three stake victories to his credit this year. Other reliable stakes runners listed as La Salle hopefuls are Louis Schlossers Bergeruk; J. S. Bradleys Sun David; George A. Cavanaughs filly-threat, Blue Violin: Clifford Lusskys Tuosix; and D. Singers Hangover. Miss Chicago Has Classy Fillies An array of 54 juvenile fillies, topped by T. F. Devereauxs double-stakes winner. Queen Margie, has been named for the 0,000 added Miss Chicago Stakes. Queen Margie was rated Floridas top juvenile filly off consecutive wins in the Hialeah Juvenile and the Singing Tower. Other well-bred fillies on the Miss Chicago roster are Mrs. Elizabeth Mucklers Tiger Kate: Fred Hoopers Ferocious, En-dicate. and Intimate; Mrs. Ada L. Rices Citation offspring. Prize Story, and the Hasty House trio of Hasty Queen, Splashy, and Mary Jo Roman. The 5,000 Continental Turf Handicap drew 26 capable grass racers, including many ranking foreign-bred thoroughbreds. Alberta Ranches St. Vincent, three-time grass stakes winner at Santa Anita, tops the foreign-bred list, which also includes Foothill Farms Irishbred Salmon Peter, and Mrs. H. L. Nathensons Irish import, Blue Choir. i j Hasty House Farm has named a strong quartet headed by Sea O Erin and Mister Black. Among Mister Blacks stakes achievements this year is a win in the 0,000 Gulf stream Park Handicap. Ruhe, always partial to grass racing, also has been nominated for the mile and one-eighth turf feature. Walmac Farm plans to send stable-ace Hasseyampa in the Continental, his first venture on the grass. Brookmeade Stables duo of County Clare and Capeador also are among the probables.
