Kroll, Berg Most Consistent Players in Pro Golf Ranks Ted Kroll has been pro golfs most consistent tournament competitor, Golf Digest Magazine performance records show. Kroll, who has earned 159.5 points in 10 tourneys for a performance average of .638, is well ahead of the .584 credited to Cary Middlecoff, who carries 146 in 10 events. Mike Souchak earned 212.1 points, more than any other golfer, but is third in the averages with .565, since he competed in 15 events. Other leaders were Jay Herbert, .538.4; Bob Rosburg, .538.3; Gene Littler, .535; Ed Furgol, .477; Billy Maxwell, .466; Jerry Barber, .457 and Johnny Palmer, .441. Patty Berg led the women with an .882 average on 2.42.5 points in 11 events. Louise Suggs was second with .52 on 213 points in 10 tourneys. Marlene Bauer placed third with 221 points in 11 events for an .804 average, and Jackie Purig was fourth with 240.5 points in 12 events for an .802 mark.
