GOLDEN ARIA made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, tired slightly when placed io pressure during the drive, but had enough left to retain a clear advantage over NEST CE PAS. The latter, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters leaving the back-stretch, recovered readily and closed with good courage when guided to the outside for the final test. MOOSE MOOSE, a sharp factor from the beginninq, lacked the necessary rally. SEMOLINA closed a gap. SILURIAN had no apparent mishap. ZAHRA was unable to gain the lead and tired. BLUE RICHES and CEDAR JUNGLE were outrun. DOCEDOE never menaced and returned in a slightly lamed condition. RUNNING CHANCE began sluggishly. JUST BILL, forwardly placed from the beginning, forged between horses to take command entering the stretch and steadily drew clear under brisk urging. AIR DON, away fastest, gave way to the winner at the furlong marker, was unable to regain the lead when punished, but held on determinedly to prevail over BAIL OUT. The latter was unable to improve his position when hard hustled through the late stages. BAY TARQUIN, knocked back at the start, came fast when clear and finished with good courage. BAN was unable to attain the lead and tired. AIR PROPHET and HEIR OF PINES lacked early speed. PAY TRAIN and OSCAR VEIL were outrun. ALAPAT failed to stay. JAMAICA ROSE worked her way on the outside to the furlong marker, responded readily when subjected to urging and gradually was getting to the winner. ROCKY RIDGE, much used early, tired when the real test came. GREEK DAY saved ground to no avail. ROWENA lacked early speed. GALLANT FANAR was through early. BOLD DUCHESS was always outrun. The latter responded readily when set down for the drive and rapidly was overtaking the leader. C.0ING BIG was rushed into the runner-up position after beginning sluggishly, showed good speed to the stretch, then held on willingly in a good effort. BEAUPRE raced JAM into defeat to take lommand during the early running, was unable to repel the challenge of the winner leaving the final turn, but held on willingly to easily best the others. NEJI, always within striking distance, failed to properly respond when ■ft down for the ultimate test. CURLY JOE was unable to keep up. Ml MS, unhurried when outrun early, came to the outside to take command when ready nearing the furlong marker and under adept handling lasted to prevail over HULA HULA. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of HULA HULA for alleged interference at the head of the stretch was not allowed. HULA HULA, never far back, responded to brisk pressure during the drive and gradually was getting to the top one. LAGOON was in close quarters between horses on the final turn, tame fast when clear during the final furlong and finished with good energy. BLACKABOUT tired. GIRL CRAZY was unable to keep up.
