► . Maryland Notes PIMLICO. Baltimore, Md., May 12. Clare Potter, noted New York fashion designer, accompanied by her husband, was a Pimlico visitor today. She flew in from New York for a day at the races and also to see the daily fashion show in the members club here, at which many of her latest creations are being worn,by the models. The first two claims of the meeting were made Wednesday, both out of the first race and both for ,000. Mrs. H. C. Moss took Bellator from George Mohr and G. C. Smith acquired Roman Queen from Mrs. S. M. Pistorio. Racing people at Pimlico were grieved to learn of the death of Victor P. Noyes, who had campaigned horses over the states ovals for many years. Alan T. Clarke, owner-trainer and jockey Con Errico tried to emulate the opening day feat of owner W. E. Crismer. trainer J. W. Hechter and jockey Carlos Gonzalez by winning three for three. The Clarke-Errico combination started off well with victories in the first and second races for Titian Maid and Bubola Mow lee a 4.00 Daily Double but Joes Jeannie was unplaced in the sixth. Oldtimers at Pimlico were convinced they could not remember a race in recent years where as many horses were "spread" across the track at the head of the stretch as in the fourth event Wednesday. And at the finish, there was a dead heat for first between Bofus and Dixie Style.
