Expect Plea for Ninth Race Wednesdays at Ohio Tracks COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 12.— A strong plea to permit the running of a ninth race on Wednesdays is expected to be made by representatives of the Ohio Thoroughbred Racing Association at a public hearing on proposed changes in the Ohio rules of racing Friday. To date this year, the State Racing Commission has limited tracks to eight races except on Saturdays, when nine are permitted. In 1954, the turf board relaxed the rule, beginning early in June, allowing nine I ■ 1 events on Wednesdays as well as on Saturdays and holidays. Three tracks have asked the board to re- lax the rule this year but to no avail.
