Yesterdays Juvenile was a thriller and John McShain, the Phila-delphian who races under the nom de course of the Barclay Stable, owns the winner, Pollys Jet. McShain is a contractor and among his masterpieces on view to the tourists in Washington are the Pentagon and the modernized White House. That is where Pollys Jet launched his career which is now an unbroken skein of three. Getthere Jack is not too liberally named for stake offerings but with some of the later summer ones due to close in the immediate future Jthere is no doubt that his name will be found in the lists, not only at Aqueduct but in New Jersey and other spots. Anyway, the exponents of Florida climate have another opportunity to start their propaganda, for the three colts that finished lapped on each other spent the winter months in Florida, Pollys Jet, Getthere Jack and Nantallah. The Juvenile is a forerunner of what is to come for, according to the work watchers, the juveniles are coming around nicely following the mild siege of coughing, and potential stars will be unveiled at frequent intervals from now on. Juveniles Named for Rich Midwest Stakes According to advices from the West Coast, Rex Ellsworth will race at Chicago this summer and following the close of those meetings ship eastward to Belmont Park for fall racing here. He has a draft of two-year-olds that are well engaged in Chicago stakes, and they will be named for eastern offerings. Swaps, winner of the Derby, was not mentioned in the report. Big Dome, owned by Henry Bowyer, will be shipped on from Maryland for a week-end engagement. . . . Edward Kilroe of the Queens County Jockey Club was on hand yesterday relative to the stake and overnight offerings at that meeting. . . . Trainer Pete Tamburo stated that Sebastian, a four-year-old, and Paddy Shaw, a three-year-old, are due here by plane from Ireland over the week end. Jockey Tony DeSpirito accepted mounts this afternoon from his contract employer, Walter M. Jeffords. . . . "Grumpy" Labelle of the valet staff is hobbling around, the result of being stepped upon by a horse which he was saddling for the seventh race Wednesday. . . . Mrs. John W. Galbreath, whose Summer Tan finished third in the Derby, returned from Louisville and was on hand for the afternoon. . . . Luke OBrien of the Jamaica forces came out for a looksee. . . . Trainer Jimmy Smith has for the newcomer to the owners ranks, Eleonora Sears, a five-year-old mare named Track Medal. She is a sister to Swaps and several tempting offers have been received for her. The latest to put in a bid for her purchase were the Nuckols brothers of Kentucky. A Florida and Saratoga regular, dropped in yesterday for his first visit of the meeting. . . . The third issue of the overnight condition book will be released Saturday, so said Jimmy Kilroe. . . . Harry L. Warner of Los Angeles, who races under the nom de course of W-L Ranch, was a visitor yesterday. He has two horses here. They came on from Louisville, Ky. yesterday, Honeys Alibi a Belmont eligible and Honeys Sister. . . . Pollys Jet, owned by the Barclay Stable, was sent to Maryland this morning but will be returned here for his National Stallion engagement on Wednesday, May 25. . . . Trainer Vance Longden transferred the quartet of horses he had at Jamaica for the Alberta Ranches to Belmont Park yesterday. Prominent Patrons Attend Mid-Week Program Mrs. duPont Scott, who races under the nom de course of Montpelier, was among yesterdays visitors. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Benjamin of New Orleans, he races the Starmount Stable, were among yesterdays visitors. . . . Trainer Jim Ryan will ship Cup Man, owned by the Rokeby Stables, to Garden State for a week-end engagement. . . . Trainer Joe Kramer will ship Blue Hen, owned by Louis Lee Haggin, to Pimlico for her Black-Eyed Susan engagement. The three-year-old will be ridden by Ted Atkinson. . . . Peter Blong, one of the veterans of yesteryear, was on hand for the afternoon. . . . Jockey George Glassner will ride Artismo, owned by James Cox Brady in the week-end Metropolitan. Jockey J. Nichols will ride Blue Banner in the Black -Eyed Susan on Saturday. . . . Trainer Burt Mulholland will go to Garden State Saturday to saddle Mandil, owned by George D. Widener, in an engagement there. Jockey Willie Hartack will do the riding chores. . . . Jockey Paul Bailey will put in some travelling in the next week. He goes to Chicago to ride Spur On in the opening day feature at Washington Park on Monday. Prior to that he will ride Red Hannigan in the Metropolitan and later Courtesy in the Coaching Club Oaks. . . . Jockey J. Westrope will do his Saturday riding at Garden State with Cup Man his principal mount. . . .
