The latter, hard held while formidable early, moved to the front in the early stretch and fought it out gamely despite the fact that his saddle had slipped from the early restraining efforts. ADMIRAL VEE dropped back rearing the stretch, then lacked room while attempting to rally. OUR COUNTRY gave way in the drive.
