I , . | 1 . Little Father Favorite In Beulah Park Offering Meets Mickeys Jack, Penaway, i The Slip Again at 1 f6 Miles By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio, May 12. — The Beulah Park Jockey Club goes into the sixth day of a twenty-day meeting with the presentation of Fridays early week end card. There are the usual eight j events carded and this program is dedicated to the platers exclusively. The feature affair, which is for four-year-olds and older horses valued at ,500, has a mile and one-sixteenth staging and is endowed with a ,200 purse. Included in the group for this contest are B. Shultz and L. Madonnas Mickeys Jack, Miss L. M. Schulls Ladys Lad, George Manleys Little Father, G. M. Johns Penaway, Wm. Grady and R. Rut-ters Bullrocket, the Gayle Stables Richelieu, M. Tuttles Versatile and Steve Mod- rics The Slip. Last Saturday, Little Father, Mickeys Jack, Penway and The Slip met in a similar event for ,500 platers. The distance was a trifle shorter at a mile and 70 yards, but Little Father was three lengths the best of Mickeys Jack at the end of the journey. In winning the affair, this Sun Again gelding was sent the dis-. tance in 1:44, under the guidance of jockey R. Duncan and was by no means ridden to the utmost for the verdict. Penaway was third, a nose behind Mickeys Jack and The Slip was a well beaten sixth in that seven -, horse field. Off that performance, it would appear that Little Father will again be the one to fear, and will undoubtedly be in line for the strongest support in the wagering. Richelieus only outing resulted in a fourth to T. Baus Dis Pete, E. H. ODaniels Sir March and Mrs. G. F. Posts Airworthy in the fifth race last Monday. The Jacopo gelding performed rather well at the Fort Miami course to win two races. The "off" strip apparently moves him up. Jockey Ron Holley, who is now tied with G. Silva for the riding honors at this meeting, piloted him to his victories at that course, and while not tentatively named on the overnight for the test tomorrow, will be the likely candidate to handle the thoroughbred.
