Ohio, , May 12. — Adhering to the policy of pre- senting special-day programs, the local management for Fridays sport is staging TV Guide Day. Ronald Krancer. of the Cleveland staff of TV Guide, which national weekly publication covers news, views and personalities in the world of television, in co-operation with Eddie Elias, WAKR-TV sportscaster. arranged festivities for this day of racing. Trophies will be awarded the winning owner following each of the eight races j j programmed. Scheduled to make the pres-I entations in the winners enclosure are the i following WAKR-TV personalities: Gene Davis, Terry Southwick. Bob Wylie. Pauline Gosling. Paige Palmer, Eddie Elias. Marge j | Jones and Chef Lorenzo. Maurice Condon. I manager of the Cleveland edition of TV j Guide, will be here with other staff mem- j S ben, William Can and Elmer Poremski. j Best race on the line-up is the seventh, [ i which is a dash of six and a half furlongs. j J Nine seasoned sprinters are named over-. night to meet for a purse of ,500. The fifth and sixth raty are scheduled over the abbreviated distance of four and a half furlongs and each figures to provide interesting sport. Entrants in the seventh race include Pipetime. Daddys Punkin, Bad News, Helens Hope. Speedy Jet, Sea Weather, Carol Jeans. Ziggity and Southern Cookn. Southern Cookn and Carol Jeans are both on a winning streak and poses a problem separating the two in this encounter. Both appear equal and will probably be treated accordingly hi the wagering. Ziggity appeared ready to score but his latest effort was somewhat disappointing and he will have to show considerable improvement to upset this band. Apprentice Bobby Wall gained a double for the afternoon on Thursdays card when the stewards permitted Rampageous to remain the victor of the fourth race. After Rampageous nosed out the publics choice, Jerrys Nebb at the end c/ one and a sixteenth miles. Jockey Eddie Plesa rider of the latter claimed foul. action was taken and Rampageous returned 0.60 to followers among the estimated crowd of 4,300. A length back of the top pair came Beats while Signal Way closed strongly for the minor portion of the purse award. The winner, a veteran of eight racing seasons, is a daughter of Our Boots — Allegheny and she required a clocking of 1:4935 for the distance, performing over a fast strip. Dark Bandit surprised in the third race paying 5.80. The combination of See Lonnie and Suebarb. in the Daily Double, was worth 0.00.
