Eight Meet in William Perm Revival Supper Money Vies With Busy Harvest Former Impressed in His Saturday Win, While Rival Had Splendid Florida Form By AVERY BROWN GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 8. — The 0,000 added William Penn, which has been restored to Garden State Parks agenda of stakes this season after the five-furlong dash was dropped last year, will have its 14th running here Wednesday and has drawn nine two-year-olds. R. T. Curleys Supper Money, shipped from Lincoln Downs for the William Penn, -had a prep over the local racing strip last Saturday and was very impressive as he scored by five lengths in :59% which will probably earn the Olympic Zenith — Belle Miss colt the role of favorite Wednesday. The eight rivals of Supper Money, while not winners of any stakes, have all distinguished themselves either with victories or speed in their previous outings. The group is composed of Hunter Lyons Busy Harvest, Beacon Stables Chardeejohn, Claiborne B. Carters Burma Charm, Happy Hill Farms Jujitsu, F. Eugene [Dixon Jr.s My Last Try, Frank A. mans Olympia Jet, Jumping Brook Farms Jumping Brook and Gerald F. Stricklands Balaklava II. The latter pair are trained by Tommy Heard and will run coupled. With the exception of My Last Try, Jumping Brook and Balaklava II. who are listed to carry 110 pounds, the aspirants for honors in the William Penn are weighted at 114 pounds." Burr to Ride Prior to shipping here, Supper Money started three times at Lincoln Downs, scoring once in a quarter-mile dash on a muddy* track and finishing second and fourth in his other two outings in Rhode Island. Charley Burr, who rode the fleet chestnut colt in his local winning race, is listed as tomorrows rider. Busy Harvest, with Willie. Hartack engaged- to ride, will vie as post-time favorite and the small field should enhance the chances of the Florida-bred son of Harvest Reward from the Busy K. mare, Busy Sis. In his Florida campaign, Busy Harvest started 10 times, winning a maiden event and a second once and third three times. Hunter Lyons colt has appeared in four blue-ribboned events, finishing third in the Florida Breeders, was well beaten in the Hialeah Juvenile, both run at Hialeah Park; was second beaten two lengths by King Hairan in the Dinner Stakes and third in the Gulfstream Park Juvenile, the latter two events run at the Hallandale course. In the Gulfstream Juvenile, Brook-meades Encore and Keystone Stables Kil-dee beat Busy Harvest by a length and one-half. Burma Charm and Chardeejohn received their introduction to racing in Florida this past winter, each has proven a winner since arriving at Garden State. Burma Charm sped to a five and one-half lengths score here last Friday, getting the five furlongs in 1:00% over a track termed good. The veteran Nick Jemas rode the son of Rangoon — Charm Bracelet and will again ride Earl Porters charge in the William Penn. Chardeejohn finished with a rush along the inside to beat Lord Ruler by a half length here on April 30.. In his debut, the son of Easy Mon — Laurina, purchased from the sale conducted at Garden State Park last September, was seventh at Gulfstream Park in a dash won by Rex Ellsworths California Kid. Balaklava II. was second in that race beaten a neck, with Burma Charm a head farther back and the Beacon Stable colt another three and one-half lengths back. In his next outing Chardeejohn was third, also at the Florida oval. Chardeejohn will be ridden by Robert Louis Stevenson.
