Note Drop in Crowds, Mutuel And Revenue at Garden State TRENTON, N. J., May 8.— The New Jersey Racing Commission said today attendance and state revenues from r a c i n g dropped more than 4 per cent from last years figures for the first seven days of the Garden State Park season. According to the commissions figures, total revenue to the state for the first seven days of 1956 amounted to ,080,225 compared to ,130,691 for the same period last year, a drop of 4.5 per cent. Attendance dropped from 171,471 for 1955 to 164,321 for this year — a decrease of 4.2 per cent. The total amount bet at the track also was down with pari-mutuel totals dropping from 4,005,156 for last year to 3,309,477 for this year for the comparable seven-day periods.
