MASTER HOWARD, hustled to the front, met early opposition from JOES MARY, drew clear after disposing of this threat and, hard ridden through the stretch, held AH-MI safe. The latter, slightly restrained early, drove her way between horses after leaving the back stretch and was slowly catching the winner at the end. AMERCUP,. permitted to race along on her own courage during the first three-eighths, made up ground when placed under urging and can do better. ARABIC, rushed up fast on the outside in the last five-sixteenths, finished with good energy. CANTAMORE was unable to reach the leaders. JOES MARY, hard hustled early, tired steadily after going three-eighths. NIGHT PRINCESS, very green early in the running, moved up fast nearing the turn, then retired steadily. IZAAK WALTON raced to the front soon after the start, opened up a commanding advantage, but had to be hard ridden through the stretch, although never seriously endangered. PASSABLE raced into contention after the opening three-sixteenths and held on with good courage to the dose. MR. BROOK, unable to gain racing room early, moved up steadily when gaining clear sailing and finished stoutly through the stretch run. PRIPO dropped back steadily in the run through the back stretch, moved up gamely on the outside in the last three-eighths, although unable to threaten the leaders. SPINDLE TOP had early speed, but was unable to keep up after leaving the back stretch. SPANISH MAMMON closed some ground. NALITA J. was unable to keep up. KERMAY, away slowly, raced far back all the way. SIX FLAGS was in trouble repeatedly. NUTTY, quickest to begin and hard hustled early, met determined early opposition from LONG X., disposed of him and, under pressure through the stretch, held HIGH ARCH safe. The latter was well placed all the way, came to the outside of the leader when reaching the stretch and finished with good energy. SIDE ARM, away fast, was in close quarters and had to be eased back in the opening eighth, found clear sailing on the inside leaving the back stretch, responded gamely to pressure, moved up briefly, was down on the inside through the stretch run and was unable to close any ground. LONG X. moved up fast on the outside soon after the start to dispute the lead, tiring during the last three-sixteenths. TRAVIS L. raced evenly. ARANMORE raced greenly. Scratched— 73342 Jabiru, 108. MISS MARTIS was forwardly placed all the way, caught the early leader tiring when reaching the stretch, drove through on the inside and, taking command after passing the eighth post, drew out steadily through the last sixteenth. SPRING MOON raced to the front at once, was rated along under slight reserve, tired slightly after reaching the stretch, although holding HIGH TREASON safe. The latter, prominent for the first half mile, moved upo no the inside nearing the stretch, although unable to better his position under pressure through the closing three-sixteenths. LITTLE MIKE, taken back of the pace in the run through the back stretch, was unable to better his position when placed under punishment. CIRCUS NIGHT, oupaced early, came willingly through the last three-sixteenths. MYRNA LEE was moving up eamely on the inside entering the stretch, was in close quarters and tired irt the last sixteenth. WEEBAG faltered after disputing the lead for the first half mile. PROUD KING was unable to reach the leaders. NIKKI B. unseated her rider at the post, went into the air when the start came, was rushed up fast and faltered in the drive. PASSING EVE, outrun until the closing three-eighths, moved up gradually and, closing with a rush, was along in the closing strides to outlast BERTILLON. The latter trailed his Field until leaving the back stretch, saved ground while improving his position and closed with good energy. DAYTONIAN, under slight reserve early, • continued with good courage to the close, although unable to make up any appreciable amount of ground. LEGERDEMAIN, well placed, faltered under pressure through the stretch run. OZARK was outrun. JIM CORN moved up steadily on the inside down the back stretch, opened up a clear lead when reaching the stretch, only to tire through the last seventy yards.
