1 PIMLICO TURF NOTES ° $ 1 Warren W. Wright of Chicago, owner of the Calumet Farm, wired trainer Frank Kearns that he was bringing on a party of friends to see Bull Lea perform in the Dixie. The King Ranchs Otra, which worked a mile Wednesday at Belmont Park, New York, in 1:40, was shipped here today by trainer Max Hirsch to fill her engagement in the 0,000 Pimlico Oaks, Saturdays mile and one-sixteenth feature. The King Ranchs Ciencia, winner of the Santa Anita Derby last winter in California, has been here for several days. She rapped a foot while being unloaded and hasnt been asked for any speed so far. If she runs in the Oaks, she will be coupled with Otra and will be ridden by Carl Bierman, who is coming on from Kentucky to handle her. Trainer Tony Pelleteri is considering starting the Millsdale Stables Alms in the Oaks. She will be ridden by Charles Stevenson. Paul Mellon, of Pittsburgh, who races • under the nom de course of the Rokeby Stable, came here to confer with racing secretary Edward J. Brennan relative to his meeting in October. Bill Gillespie, agent for jockey Jackie Westrope, wired that his charge would be here to ride Townsend B. Martins Cravat in the Dixie. Westrope is seeking a mount in the 0,000 Preakness to be run May 13 closing day of the Maryland Jockey Clubs spring .campaign. Jockey Maurice Peters turned down an offer to ride Thanksgiving and will handle Edward Friendlys Jacola in the Dixie next Wednesday.
