ETTEN MAKES GOOD Nick Etten, a product of Chicagos South Side, is playing first base for the Philadelphia Athletics. Connie Mack purchased Etten from Jacksonville of the Southeastern League last year where Etten led the league with a batting average of .370. Etten prepped at St. Ritas High School, where he also starred at basketball and football, and later attended Villanova College in Pennsylvania.
