ENTRY CAPTURES ALL PLACES Imprudent, Arden Lass and Nosy Finish One-Two-Three. Bryson and Shouso Colorbearcrs Dominate Masquerader Purse at Pimlico— Proph Scores in the Second Kace. PIMLICO, Md., May 4.— Showing the same speed that brought six victories in seven starts this season, including a stakes triumph in the recent renewal of the Aberdeen Stakes at Havre dc Grace, Ella K. Brysons swift juvenile filly Imprudent became a double stakes winner when she accounted for the second running of the Masqucrader Stakes, ,500 added test for two-year-olds that featured the competition at Pimlico today. The score enriched her earnings to ,7S0 as she took down ,930 when taking the measure of two stablematcs, Arden Lass and Nosy, all of which were saddled by J. Serio, Jr. Arden Lass performed for Jouett Shouse in the four and one-half furlongs sprint, and the trio of starters that raced as one in the betting ruled prohibitive favorites for the dash, which only attracted two others — Alvin Untermyers Cockerel and A. G. Vanderbilts Skin Deep. The event while attracting a small field, engaged some of the best youngsters on the grounds. It was a thrilling contest from end to end with Imprudent in the front position all of the journey to register by a half-length. ARDEN LASS OFF SLOW. The start was gained after a delay of one minute and a half and all left in good order with Imprudent and Skin Deep first from the stalls, while Arden Lass was last to leave. Going to the first turn, the first four out of the stalls were bunched with Imprudent going along on the front end as Skin Deep, Cockerel and Nosy raced heads apart. Imprudent was setting a swift pace for her opponents and midway of the turn was able , to get clear to lead by a length and one-half. In the last eighth the field closed in and jockey I. Anderson resorted to a drive to keep the daughter of Whiskalong moving briskly to be winner. Arden Lass came i through on the inside during the late stages ! for her share of the purse and it was only a length that separated her from Nosy who took a nose verdict over Cockerel. Ideal conditions prevailed for the fourth matinee at the Baltimore racing grounds and, although many favorites were beaten, ; exciting sport kept the large gathering • enthused. DOMKIN GRADUATES. Juveniles of Maryland parentage met in l the first race of the afternoon at four and one-half furlongs end it brought out ten of ;• the cheaper grades with Domkin, a first-time ! starter, graduating in easy style. Racing for ■ E. Hackney and enjoying the bulk of support • the son of Ladkin was in front after the ! first few strides to dominate all of the running • and make the accounting by four, ; lengths. Ridden by jockey G. Smith to lead Breaking Waves and Aster Lady in the early - part of the trip, the E. Hackney youngster • crossed the line in advance of Pompanita . of the W. A. Jones barn, as Breaking Waves i barely lasted for third. In saving the place s Pompanita held the same margin as the winner ■ enjoyed. Racing with spurs as part of his equipment . and showing unexpected improvement over a series of poor races, H. W. Jacksons chestnut horse Proph defeated eight other better than average sprinters in the decision t of the second race. His score took place . over Mrs. M. E. Martins Little Drift in easy , style with Combatant third at the end of six . furlongs. Jockey Lee Hardy rode the winner, . . which was left at the post in his last start and he had the H. W. Jackson horse away prominently to chase along close to Galon Boy and Briar Plume when the pair . were rushed out to lead the way. Rated [ nicely the son of High Time surged forward [ to displace the leaders before entering the ; home stretch, then held sway to register by , three lengths. Little Drift was always in t the thick of contention to land the place by r a head, with Combatant moving up from last - position to take third by a daylight margin. Walter Wickes imported French jumper, Valpuiseaux, was an easy winner of the I third race; the daily event for steeplechasers, when he defeated three others that finished the two miles over fifteen fences. Making r his first start of the season, the six-year-old [ son of Clarissimus scored in hollow style when he took the measure of Briar Blue from the J. F. Adams, Jr. stable as Claque captured third from Happy Joe, the only other starter in the field of seven to finish. Jockey J. Haley rode "Valpuiseaux which was one of the best fancied starters and he had the outlander in front all during the last mile to score by a fifteen-length margin. The W. Wickes gelding went to the front at the eighth fence and when May Boy, his closest opponent at that stage fell at the ninth jump, there was little to the running for the remainder of the trip. OUTSIDER MANYMOR WINS. In the first of the long distance races run as the fourth, eight cheap platers matched strides at a mile and seventy yards and the v/inner came from unexpected quarters when G. L. Strykers Manymor scored at liberal odds. It was the first triumph for the three-year-old son of Trojan since starting his racing career and it carne in easy fashion v/hen he won at the immediate expense of H. W. Jacksons The Surf, which ruled a strong favorite. At the end the two leaders v/cre separated by four lengths as Banner Girl barely captured the short division of the spoils from Maewhisk.
