WEST MILTON was u briskly ridden from the start, saved ground and closed well at the end to outfinish the others IDIO raced into a clear early lead, held on tenaciously under a challenge from PLAY FIDDLE in the drive, but was tiring at the end. PLAY FIDDLE was a keen contender, could not put away IDIO when punished 10 .. e..r.!f Land weakened as the rider lost a stirrup near the end. ELMOS CHOICE saved ground and finished well. IS YOURS saved ground while maintaining a short advantage over DOCTOR DICK drew clear under punishment in the stretch run and gamely withstood KING BEAU. The latter, probably best, lacked room, attempting to move forwardly between the top pair on the final turn and into the stretchthen closed determinedly when clear nearing the last sixteenth and was getting to the winner. DOCTOR DICK was lightly reserved while vying for the pace, then drifted out sliohtlv when set down for the stretch drive and weakened. SLEIPNER weakened in the drive. CLOSED DOOR, well ridden and under snug restraint while saving ground close to the pace, slipped through on the rail when roused on the stretch turn and wrested command, then continued evenly under strong hand pressure. JOEY BOY was. rated along setting the pace, attempted to come again when displaced by CLOSED DOOR, but drifted to the middle of the track under punishment. GOLDEN -GLOVES was unable to head JOEY BOY when placed under pressure after the opening quarter mile, was intermittently punished on the final turn, then weakened in the stretch drive. BANK COAL was guided wide for the drive and finished well. AGAIN II. began sluggishly, strongly raced into serious contention after a half mile, but faltered in the stretch run. DO REPORT dropped back slighth/after showing in front away from the gate, was under light hustling to remain within striking distance and closed gamely from the outside in the stretch drive to wear down CANDLE WOOD. The latter was a sharp contender racing outside of rivals, wrested»a clear lead in the stretch, then weakened and drifted out in the Jast furlong. SEER, unable to contend early, came between horses In the stretch and finished with a rush. HI BILLEE vied for the pace between horses and faltered. SANDTOP closed with a late rush. POMPANO raced into command under pressure at the half-mile, saved all possible ground while repulsing a bid from NOSTREBOR entering the stretch and steadily drew away. TIDE LANDS broke poorly and trailed while sluggish, then rallied fast in the last stages and was Up to best NOSTREBOR. The latter was rated within striking distance, loomed boldly for the drive, but tired and drifted out. JACK JAY saved ground and was reserved early, but lacked a rally MISS GRETCHEN had no excuse.
