GOLDEN APOLLO took command at once, established a good lead before entering the stretch and retained** safe margin thereafter. while under a steady hand ride. EFFORTLESS lacked early speed, closed strongly under urging, but could not get to the winner, although easily best of the others. DANGEROUS DAN raced well until inside the stretch, then weakened. GRAND BABY saved ground throughout, but could not better her position when set down for the drive. FEARFUL ODDS was never dangerous. FOREVER HI was through after a half-mile. GOLD FLASH had brief speed but failed to stay. GAME BID showed nothing. SALLYS DISH was never dangerous and was not persevered with during the stretch run when hopelessly beaten. PROPS saved ground while improving his position after a sluggish start, remained next to the inner rail for the drive and, after taking command, held on willingly under strong handling. BIMOVER went to the front at the start, set the pace to the stretch but could not stay with the winner. PHAROS DREAM, in hand to the last three-eighths mile, closed gamely under urging, struck PROPS* heels at the finish, stumbled badly and nearly fell. BOLING POLLY raced wide during the last quarter mile and could not get to the leaders. ATHLETE was never dangerous and had no mishap. HENRYS FIRST raced nearest BIMOVER to the stretch but tired badly during the drive. THWARTED failed to stay. ROYAL BONES, never farr back and saving ground, responded to energetic handling during the stretch run and, after disposing of TIS JOE, held WELL MET safe. WELL .MET, outrun to the last quarter mile, was sent to the outside for the drive and closed strongly, but could not overtake the top one. SAVED AGAIN, far back early, drifted out at the final turn, then finished fast when straightened for the stretch run. OTTER BROOK, hustled to the front early, set the pace to i the stretch while engaging TIS JOE, then faltered. TIS JOE, much used racing OTTER BROOK into defeat, ; reached the lead during the drive, then weakened. BLEN SAND had no mishap. JOE PAGLINA raced well to the ; stretch, then tired. BLUE PATH lacked early speed, drifted out at the final turn and then closed resolutely, but could not get to the top pair. DAYLIGHT TIME could not better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. BONA ETERNAL began fast, bore out during the last three-eighths mile and could not threaten the leaders. BOFAYE raced forwardly placed to the stretch, then weakened. MR. NEALIE was outrun. MEMAW, in close quarters early, dropped back at the final turn and failed to recover. KONTINU began sluggishly. LOVELY DEVIL took command early, set the pace for a half mile, then gave way. BOUNCING BOOTS was eased when hopelessly beaten. Overweight— Memaw, 3 pounds. Sun Diver claimed by Duntreath Farm.
