Jamie K. Endeavors1* To Shake Nemesis Bedded Down at Delaware as He Awaits Leonard Richards; J Expect Landlocked for Stake [ DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 3 17. — Spring. Hill Farms Jamie K., who i raced Native Dancer to neck decisions in both the Preakness and the Belmont, will . endeavor to shake his nemesis this week- end when he competes in the sixteenth ; running of the mile and a furlong Leonard c Richards Stakes. The homebred son of ; Crowfoot — Sea Elf, pride and joy of the j James D. Norris establishment, has but two ; victories this year, both against allowance j company, but has clearly stamped himself ; as an outstanding member of the three- * j year-old division. With Jamie K. safely bedded down in his local quarters, the arrival of James Cox ; Bradys Landlocked was expected momen- 1 tarily. While this son of Priam II. has ■ failed to assert himself as solidly as" Jamie -K., -he has displayed a touch of class. He ■ was. soundly beaten by Greentrees Pow- hatan in a recent start but prior to that! was victorious over the Kent winner, Scimitar in New Jersey. Last weeks Kent, which usually develops potential starters in the Leonard Richards, was of no help in that respect this season. Scimitar, Invigorator and Caesar Did, who finished necks apart on Saturday, are ineligible for the Leonard Richards, while the others in the Kent failed to display sufficient class to warrant their handlers starting them this Saturday. Other Probables Aside from Jamie K. and Landlocked, probable Leonard Richard starters include Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Maabrook, King Ranchs Grand Chaco, Rokeby Stables Magic Lamp, Hal Price Headleys Regal Manner and possibly one or two more lesser lights of the division. Maabrook hadnt been seriously considered as a Richards prospect until Tuesday morning, when jockey Ronnie Nash worked him a full mile in 1:39%, the last portion of which was highly pleasing to trainer Oscar White; Maabrooks half-brother, Post Card, accounted for the-1950 renewal for Mrs. Jeffords and trainer White is of the opinion that Maabrook should be given an opportunity of completing a double for the sportswoman. A pair of three - year - olds — Killian Stables Dark .Royal and John S. Phipps Pleiades — will endeavor to earn a starting position in the Richards through their efforts in tomorrows featured Camden Purse. This ,000 allowance event has attracted but fiver starters, the field being rounded out by Mrs. Henry Obres Roman Orgy, Mrs. Alfred Roberts Lark Sun and H. R. Grays Frosty Whirl. Pleiades and Roman Orgy raced together over the local course recently, finishing third and fourth as named behind Smart Apple. The latter was timed in 1:12% over a fast track and the first four horses were well bunched at the finish. Dark Royal was soundly beaten while third behind Alf a Mo and Lark Sun was unplaced in a race won by Resilient. Frosty Whirl is a maiden who has often disappointed.
