OFF AT 2:031 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. TOP FOOT broke alertly, was close to the pace down the backstretch, assumed brief command nearing the final turn, gave way, but regained the lead in the stretch to outf inish ELISANN. The latter went along with the leaders saving ground into the stretch, gained the lead passing the furlong pole and just missed. PLUCKY STAR, close up and saving ground, was guided outside when straightened for the drive and closed willingly. SCIPIO rallied mildly from off the pace. SAL EGRET, in between horses while forcing the pace, vied for the lead in the final furlong and faltered. JAMES B. saved ground to no avail. HOD CROWN weakened after .a half mile. TIGER MATT showed a dull effort. The others were outrun. OWO, forwardly placed under light restraint, moved around the leaders to take the lead inside the final sixteenth, but was unable to stave off the bid of EYES IMAGE, who gained a dead-heat EYES IMAGE, slow to start, found racing room along the inside in the stretch and closed fastest of all. HOPE HE DUS improved position steadily along the inside in a good effort. PILE DRIVER rallied under late pressure along the inside. GELINKA weakened after forcing the pace. POPULAR JOE was under pressure to rpake up ground on the turn, tried to bear out, was straightened and lacked a closing rally. MAIDENS REWARD was shuffled back on the far turn. HALARA weakened after a half mile. FRANKS FIRST flattened out after challenging the leader in the stretch. ANNETTE G. was unable to keep up. The others were outrun. HOODWINK broke alertly, was taken off the pace, remaining close up, assumed the lead inside the final furlong and gradually increased advantage under intermittent pressure. DANDER drew clear after a quarter mile, skirted the inner rail throughout and held on stubbornly in the drive. PARNASSUS passed tiring horses in the late stages. KIAMI had no mishap. VAL-O-VAL went evenly: DUFFIN went in the air and was never prominent. EQUIDOE was not persevered with when beaten. URBIRIONDOS rider appeared to have lost his. irons soon after the start and the colt bolted through the outer fence at the four and one-half furlongs pole. OLD TOM, steadied close to the pace and saving ground, moved out on the final turn, came between horses to take command and drew clear amder pressure. CLAIRE DAUBER, a forward factor, rallied under pressure and was challenging at the end WINSTAY broke alertly, stayed within striking distance of the pace, rallied when put to a drive but was not good enough. PACIFIC BOUND, slow to settle into best stride, was forced to; lose ground on the final turn and lugged in, hampering the rider near the end. SONOFUN had no mishap. PINOCCHIO saved ground to no avail. TRAVELER weakened. SHIBBOLETH quit Overweight— Pacific Bound, 1 pound. Pinocchio claimed by L. OUR DORIE moved inside, to take command after a quarter mile, remained on even terms for the lead until the final furlong, then drew out readily under intermittent pressure. SEAFLASH broke alertly, was rated under stout restraint to the final quarter and failed to respond when roused. ROYAL DUKE finished with good energy along the inside. TOMMYS MEMORY had no mishap. BETTER GOODS assumed command soon after the start, established an even pace down the backstretch, increased his lead while drifting out slightly entering the stretch and prevailed -over ASSIDUOUS. The latter moved along the inside only to be blocked near the far turn, recovered quickly and came to the outside closing stoutly in the final stages. FLY WHEEL worked his way up on the outside, came to the inside for the drive and finished stoutly under an energetic drive. PARK DANDY, never far off the pace, saved ground on the final turn, had clear sailing, but was unable to menace. ISASMOOTHIE, under stout restraint in the early stages, saved all possible ground and was unable to threaten. POWHATAN lost ground on the outside and failed to respond to late pressure. KAMEHAMEHA was sent up fast to near the early leader, forced the pawnor six furlongs and weakened. LITTLE LUCKY was outrun.
