Partridge to Run Jamie K. In Derby With Arcaro Up WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., Aug. 17. John Partridge, trainer of Spring Hill Farms Jamie K., said today that Eddie Arcaro probably would have the mount on the three-year-old colt in Saturdays American Derby, barring accident, mud, or some conditioning drop -off. Jamie K. finished fourth today to Sir Mango in an American Derby trial, his fourth failure to hit the winners circle during the Arlington Park-Washington Park season. "Theres no reason, as of this moment." Partridge said, "why we shouldnt run in the American Derby. And, if we do, Arcaro will ride him." It was learned, however, that Arcaro may confer with Partridge later today concerning the mount on Jamie K. The problem of who is going to ride Native Dancer now that his regular jockey, Eric Guerin, has been set down m New York for 10 days, provoked the Arcaro-on-Jamie K. situation at Washington Park. Arcaro is committed to the James D. Norris colt and there are only two ways he can avoid that commitment if Jamie K. is scratched, or if Part-ridge releases him from the agreement.
