Illinois Notes FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., Aug. 17. Owner-trainer William L. Hoag was one of the several horsemen taking advantage of the long week end, making a visit to his Chicago home. Racing was dark at this course today following the usual local custom, but consid-erableweek-end activity reached a peak on Monday evening with the holding of the annual HBPA dinner dance at the Fair- mount Park clubhouse. The party, which was to begin at 7:30 p. m., was arranged by Bert Lev, head of the local division of the HBPA, and committee members Paul Larvis, E. "Ted" Wortman, Robert Warren and Joe Podesta. - Kenneth Robertson was an addition to the jockey colony, checking in on Sunday fro mHazel Park. The popular veteran reported to trainer Clarence Green", who shipped in from Detroit earlier last week. Kelly Childers will act as his agent. The racing strip underwent a face-lifting treatment with track superintendent Art Barnes having his crew scrape the surface. The majority of the horsemen requested that Barnes attemtp to have the course of the same speed that it was during the spring meeting. The Maye Well Acres Farm, trained by Vince Mullins, was reported by racing secretary Jack Klucina as en route from Chicago and due to arrive by van early Tuesday morning. The unit consists of Unique Reward, Curious Reward, Lady of Time and E-O-Eleven. Also due in from Chicago in the morning is owner-trainer A. Baroni with Jay Edward and another horse.
