Mrs. Mary Sweeney, 83, Dies Following Extended Illness LOUISVILLE, Ky Aug. 17 Mrs. Mary Thomas Dickerson Sweeney, 83, mother of Russell Sweeney, resident manager of Churchill Downs, died Sunday morning at the home of her son following an extended illness. Mrs. Sweeneys husband, John, preceded her in death by 14 years. Surviving in addition to Russell are a daughter, Mrs. Mae Rydberg, of Fort Mitchell, Ky.; two brothers, Earl Dicker-son, Cincinnati, and Russell of Vanceberg, Ky. The body will be sent to Fort Mitchell tomorrow where private funeral services will be held and burial will take place in Fort Mitchell Cemetery.
