IRISH PRINCE gained a forward position and was placed under steadying restraint to the final quarter mile, rallied under stout pressure and outfinished CHERRY PRINCE. The latter assumed command soon after the start, maintained the lead untjl the final sixteenth and weakened. VINITA ED, a forward factor, rallied mildly. HATTER WAR showed good speed and held on tenaciously. RAREDICTION saved ground to better position. STAR OF DUBLIN had no mishap. RISSAN weakened. HASTY TIGER, slow to settle into stride, rushed boldly after a half mile, was unable to reach the leaders and went evenly in the late stages. U. S. BOUND, in hand while settling into early stride, failed to respond when roused. The others were outrun. WRIGHTS WRONG roused early and moved into contention along the inside, came outside of the leaders in the stretch, responded to stout pressure and was along in the final strides to beat LADY FINN. The latter forced the pace under light restraint to the final quarter mile, moved into command and was gradually edging away when overtaken. ZIPPER, a forward factor, rallied in the late stages and finished with good energy. CORUSCATE, slow to begin, was rushed along the inside to take command before a quarter mile, saved ground while setting the pace to the stretch, then weakened slightly. SEVEN PILLARS went evenly. SAILING HIGH passed tiring horses with a late rush. POMANDER was unable to keep up. MINUS ONE dropped back after a quarter mile and was never a factor theceafter.
