Crowd of 5,200 on Hand For Opening at Hamilton HAMILTON, Ohio, Aug. 17. Approximately 5,200 racing fans jammed the Butler County Fair Grounds this afternoon to welcome racing back to Hamilton for the 14th annual season at the quaint half-miler that has become known as the "little Saratoga of Ohio." The meeting started out on an auspicious note as the odds-on Nifty carried the leading rider of last season, Charley Elder, to an immediate victory by five and a half open lengths. Nifty just aired to his field and started the favorite players off to a glorious meeting by returning .00 for his triumph.
