R. Warren, will go to the post in the featured North Platte Purse seeking his fourth win of the season and his third consecutive win here Friday. The son of Warrior Lad and Miss ODoon has started four times this season and was defeated on only one occasion, at Arizona Downs. The Warren colorbearer won his first start at this track, beating Chicatant, one of his rivals Friday, by three-quarters of a length, running six furlongs in 1:15%. He was seen under silks the next time out running six and one-half furlongs in 1:22%, taking the measure of a field of ,500 platers. He will again have the services of Joe Rettele, who booted him home in his other victories. Measured Time, Le Cog Hardi, Subjugate and Fast Song also are winners at this meeting, with Chicatant gaining his brackets for the 1955 season while racing in Arizona. Pat McGee and Happy Tulip have been raced-sparingly so far this year and have not reached the winners circle. Raymond Clevenger won the first race of his budding career in the feature race Wednesday, booting home the lightly regarded Free Lap to a nose victory over H. B. Mershons Two Step. The promising apprentice rider from Canyon City, Colorado, had his mount away alertly and was able to hold a narrow margin right down to the wire.
