Overnight Claiming Race Todays Belmont Feature Six-Furlong Event Draws Fly-Lo; Rush Prince and Weal or Woe BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 5. — For the first time within any. available memory, the feature race at Belmont Park is an overnight claiming race. Some years ago, there used to be a claim-, ing stake on the agenda that was a feature attraction, but no one here could recall when an overnight claimer, regardless of value, had been the main event. The two original features failed to fill, despite some 2,800 thoroughbreds at the three Long Island tracks. Tomorrows sixth event is ii six-furlong test, styled "The Great Neck," for horses valued at from 2,000 to 5,000. It has drawn a field of 11, headed "by Lily-Ann Stables Fly-Lo with 122 pounds. The former C T. Chenery sprinter tired badly in his first start here on April 27 in an allowance dash, but won his two previous races at Gulf stream Park. Bill Boland is slated to ride. A. J. Meslers Rush Prince, 113; J. W. Nizleks Muharram, 108, and Circle M Farms Iswas finished in that order, first, second and fourth in a somewhat cheaper claimer here on April 28. Rush Prince won that event rather easily and will again be ridden by Hedley Woodhouse. Others in the Great Neck with good local form are W. M. Wickhams Weal or Woe, High Tide Stables Full Brother and Adele L. Rands This Side. Weal or Woe, who carries 113 pounds and Jimmy Nichols, was a game second to Plus Fours at Jamaica on April 22 and finished in a dead heat with Full Brother, less than a length behind Peter Lane before that. Ray Brous-sard will ride Full Brother at 113 pounds. This Side started the season better than he has continued it, racing well early in the Jamaica meeting, then appearing to lose some of his zest. He will be ridden by Ted Atkinson at 120 pounds and will be coupled with the re-entering Begorra, 115 and Pete Anderson. wThe only race on, the, card that i£inot either a MMe¥and%rWde8k isHhmm a dash for juvenile fillies who have never won anything but a maiden or claiming event.
