Director Post to J. L. Watkins FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May ,5.— John L. Watkins, the genial racing secretary and handicapper at the Fort Miami course, has been appointed directorof racing at this plant. Mr. Watkins is a veteran racing official who has been associated with the thoroughbred sport for the past 35 years and with his background seems well qualified for the position. Watkins also serves as a steward at Ak-Sar-Ben, in Omaha, Lincoln, Alliance, Columbus, Madison and Mitchell, all in Nebraska. In addition, Watkins serves as a placing judge at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas, during the winter months.
