■ Suspend Harness Horseman Humph res on Doping Count Olen Humphres, Ashmore, 111., horseman, has been suspended indefinitely by the Illinois Harness Commission pending further investigation into the alleged doping of one of his horses currently campaigning at Maywood Park. The horse, Olen Spencer, won the fifth race. Monday night at Maywood, where the Fox Valley Trotting Club is conducting its spring meeting. The usual saliva test taken after the race was sent to the Chicago Biological Laboratories for analysis, where it was found to contain traces of caffeine. According to N. Orrin Baker, steward representing the Illinois Harness Commis-.sion, a ruling on Humphres state status has been delayed until further investigation *has been completed. Humphres, who denies any knowledge of the events leading to the discovery, has a string of 25 standard-breds under his care at Maywood. He is listed as the owner and trainer of Olen Spencer, and drove the winning sulky Monday evening. The horse paid 4.60 in the* event, a Class CC, mile trot, carrying a purse of ,050.
