Needles Reaches Pimlico To Prepare for Preakness Derby Winner Playful; Fabius, Count Chic/ No Regrets Arrive By CHARLES HATTON PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 9. — Needles, winner of the Kentucky Derby, arrived here at noon today to prepare for the 00,000 Preakness, middle jewel in the Triple Crown, scheduled a week from Saturday. The handsome bay colt was playful and composed despite his 24-hour rail trip from Churchill Downs in Louisville. He posed for numerous photographers en route and even took attention away from former President Harry S. Truman, who rode a part of the way on the same train. Winner of three consecutive races of more than 00,000 in his latest starts, Needles was accompanied by his trainer, Hugh Fontaine, and was bedded down here with seven stablemates and a pony. Three other colts who made creditable showings in the Kentucky Derby also ar, rived at Pimlico for the 80th running of the mile and three-sixteenths Preakness.
