APPROPRIATE took a short lead nearing the stretch turn and increased it in the stretch but appeared to be tiring nearing the end. IM EXPECTIN set a good pace, continued well after being headed and was gaining at the end. MIKEABY moved up entering the stretch but lacked the necessary finishing power. TOHIL had no apparent excuse and failed to threaten. ROSEHUE lost considerable ground in the stretch. TRUE BRUCE was badly outrun. BABYS PAL was through after going five furlongs. Moran; bred by Mrs. G. Brown, Jr. IN GATE— 5:33J. OFF AT 5:34 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won handily; second and third driving. SEA SIREN"was well rated close up in "the first six furlongs and, although forced to race wide in the stretch, forged to the front in the last furlong to win by a good margin. NOBLE TWIST moved up between horses in the stretch to best LIKE HOVER for second place in the closing strides. LIKE HOVER got to the front nearing the stretch turn and then bore out. HARD SEA made up some orcund in the stretch. FOXY GERT was used up making the pace and tired, although saving ground. ETERNAL HOUR was never a serious contender. BULL HIEROCLES WAS SCRATCHED BY THE VETERINARIAN EN ROUTE TO THE POST, DUE TO LAMENESS. MONEY WAGERED ON HIM WAS REFUNDED. Scratched— 78923 Bull Hierocles, 112- 793463 Saint Nicholas, 112.
