Miss Run More in Easy Triumph at Ascot Park Creech Mare Finds Sloppy Track Made to Order for Surprise Tally By W. A. CRUSE ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 9. — Mrs. A. M. Creechs Miss Run More and jockey L. Grubb took down the laurels in an easy three-length victory here this afternoon. The occasion was the running of the Conart Motor Sales Hand-cap, and the popular young reinsman allowed the Bull Run mare to slush through the rain and slop to her leisure through the final furlong. The time for the Ascot course was a commendable :56 flat. Overlooked in the betting, despite a victory in an optional ,600 claiming event on an "off" strip earlier in the meeting, a 9.40 mutuel was posted. Gaeta and Parziales Winstay was second at the wire, a good length and three-quarters in advance of the Oakshine Farms Fiddle Bow. F. M. Douglas Bim Bim was fourth, another two lengths back. James Doyle, the rider on Bim Bim, however, claimed a foul against Winstay and the latter vas disqualified and placed fourth. It was leaving the three-eighths pole that Winstay ducked in some, causing the interference. J. Capably handled by her usual rider, Buck Thornburg, son of the owner and trainer, she negotiated the six and one-half furlongs in a driving rain in 1:25. Overlooked in the .wagering in preference to K. Kemps Jerry Kellee and apprentice James Clemens, who were second, a neck behind the winner, a 2.60 win mutuel was posted. Buck Thornburg turned in his first victory of the day by riding the Cremona Farms Light Ron to an easy, four-lengths decision in the Gray and Roan Horse Purse, the third of a series of races to culminate in the Gray Horse Handicap on closing day. Light Ron was the three-to-two favorite in the betting and returned .00 after running the Ascot course in :55%. Dandy John, the Mrs. G. L. McNeil color-bearer was victorious in the opener, the first half of the Daily Double. Mrs. McNeill is the wife of Don McNeill of radios famed Breakfast Club. Dandy John was ridden by apprentice James Clemens. C. E. Kinters Tiger Toi made it a front-running victory in the second half of the Double and was never challenged. John Shoyat was his pilot and toured the mile and one-sixteenth in 1:53% to complete a 56.40 Daily Double. Three-year-olds and older horses hold the spotlight in a seven-furlong affair titled the Great Northern Hunting Club of Star County Purse. An allowance race, racing secretary Charles F. Henry raised the purse to ,600 and in so doing, enticed nine in all, including a coupling, into the event. Mr. and Mrs. Peter "Maxwells Hay don looms a strong candidate for the major awards in this race. Haydon was victorious in the Imperial Purse early last week end. In fact, on Fridays card he finished a head in front of R. F. Myers Elgol, who was coming off a sensational victory in one of the better claiming events earlier in the week. The ironic part of Hay dons victory is that he had but a head on Elgol, but the latter was 25 lengths the best of her closest rival. The additional half furlong of this feature and the possibility of the fourth fast track of the meeting should be ideally suited to .an even more impressive performance, r Jockey Norman Hart piloted Haydon to his victory, but has accepted the mount on R. A. Davis String With Me in this race. String With Me5s most recent essay was a second to Frabotto and Riley!s Drogheda in the Thompson-Haldeman Purse. Beaten a good three and one-quarter lengths, he did get to the front in the early part of the x journey, but was not able to outgame the winners late surge. Again, the track condition, and that effort as a tightner, may make this Dogaway gelding a candidate for the secondary, if not the major portion of the spoils. Rounding out the field is the D. Knight entry of Destino Miss and Jay Walker; G. Bill Jr.s Star Show, M. Brandts Imur-guy, one of the more consistent of the sort at Sunshine Park this year; The Bottten Bucket Stables Barge In, and Gray Gown, a recent victor in the. claiming ranks.
