Its perfect for his "But Dont Get Me Wrong, I Love Hollywood" tag: On a visit to Hollywood a chap went into a drugstore and asked lor a small tube of toothpaste. He was handed a tube marked "large." When he objected, the clerk explained: "Large is the smallest size we have. The next size is giant and then super "... We mentioned the foregoing to Stanley Rubin, who says its the same with olives. "Large" is the smallest olive, "colossal" is the medium size and "mam- mouth" marked on the can or jar is usually a pretty fair olive. If the right percentage deal can be worked out, Mervyn LeRoy might be loaned to Milton Sperlings U. S. Pictures to meg Herman Wouks "Marjorie Morningstar" . . . Buddy Adler making a strong pitch to get Ernie Borgnine for additional pix. Adler reminisces about the time Borgnine was in "From Here to Eternity" for him and pulled down a fast 50 a week. Borgnines current assignment in "The Best Things in Life Are Free" for Adler is costing 20th 100 grand. . * A * IF THE MILE race gets any faster, therell be a yammer for a match race with John Landy and Jim Bailey pitted against Swaps and Nashua . . . Dore Schary, currently in Manhattan, is expected to return to the coast with all Metro pic plans wrapped up for the rest of the year . . . Art Arthur to New York next week for the exploitation and ad campaign on "The Ten Commandments." The DeMille epic goes out in November with a running time of close to four hours; intermission, of course . . . When "Bridey Murphy" is made by Paramount, Alan Wilson thinks itll be a great picture from end to beginning. J
