HOKEY outran the field to take a comfortable lead, was steadied on the turns and maintained the advantage without excessive pressure. BIGDOME rallied to loom as a threat in the final quarter mile, was unable to make up ground and pulled up sore. AIR OUT dropped off the pace, was sent up on the inside after a half mile, but lacked a late challenge. SHINING ON had no mishap. STAY WELL went evenly. RING01D retired steadily. DOCTOR DICK, reserved within striking distance of the leader for five furlongs, moved up readily nearing the final turn, assumed command and had enough left to withstand the challenge of FALL CREEK. The latter improved hisposition along the inside until the final turn, came to the outside and challenged inside the final furlong but lugged jn under pressure. JACK FROST established a rapid pace and weakened. BUSY NELLIE", in hand close to the pace, weakened after a mild bid. LETDOWN saved ground to no avail. MISS SHADOW had brief speed and retired. RARCO SAUL drew clear at once, set a rapid pace, skirted the inner rail and was roused repeatedly when challenged in the late stages. ROYAL PRODUCT was under steady pressure throughout the final quarter mile but was unable to overtake the leader. BUT FIRST slipped through along the inside into the stretch and closed stoutly. CAPTAIN MORGAN, well placed on the outside, was unable to make up ground wherr called on. GENERAL DILLON had no mishap. HILL PRINCESS had brief speed and retired. The others were never prominent. EMORY MAL, sluggish in the early stages, rushed boldly on the outside to reach the leaders inside the final furlong and swerved to the inside while drawing clear. DOUBLE DEALER, forwardly placed, moved wide on the final turn, was brought in and appeared to be bothered slightly as the winner came over. WHATATOY assumed a short lead rounding the final turn, was under stout pressure in the drive and weakened. DEVILS VERSE, slow to settle into stride, lost ground on the extreme outside, closing with a late rush. SINISTER broke alertly, was steadied close to the pace, rallied to take command in the stretch and faltered. MRS. G. R. raced in spots. TO THE FRONT was never prominent. SCUB weakened after showing speed for a half mile. BLUE VET, close up early, retired steadily in the late stages. A claim of foul by the rider of DOUBLE DEALER was allowed. SOUR NOTE gained the lead before leaving the ji backstretch, drew clear on the turn, came out slightly entering the stretch, then was taken back to the inside and increased his advantage under intermittent urging. POST PRANDIAL closed with a belated rush on "the ._ extreme outside. A-PACOPEP was reserved within striking distance of the pace, then was sent up on the -outside midway on the turn, but was unable to reach the leader and continued on willingly. EATONTOWN moved 5 into a short lead soon after the start, gave way before three furlongs, then remained close up until the final c turn and went out slightly, weakening through the stretch. BALAKLAVA II. was reserved until the final quarter mile, then moved up with a rush on the extreme outside to overtake-the leaders, drew clear and was taken in hand while racing greenly. BUSY HARVEST was roused early to remain close to the pace, saved ground on the turn and got to the front nearing the final furlong pole, but was no match for the winners SUPPER MONEY, steadied when outrun, moved up entering the stretch, but was forced to take to the outside of horses at the furlong pole and continued on gamely. OLYMPIA JET assumed command at once, was hard held on the turns and weakened in the late stages. JUMPING BROOK was close up under light urging, then moved closer to the pace leaving the backstretch and weakened slightly in the drive. JUJITSU was forced to take up to prevent running up on horses heels nearing the half mile pole and failed to recover in time to menace. CHARDEEJON was outrun. BURMA CHARM moved alertly from the start, but was caught in a jam leaving the backstretch and forced to take up sharply and was eliminated. COMBAT FLEET assumed command at once, dominated the pace throughout, then drifted out on the final turn and was straightened and continued on gamely to hold CHANCE DEB. The latter showed good speed to remain with the pace and was forced to lose ground when the leader went out, but kept on stride and was pressing to the end. COMBUSTION II. moved up on the outside to engaged the leaders after six furlongs, but was forced very wide and failed to regain lost ground. MORE APPS was steadied close to the pace, benefitted as the leader went wide and had a clear path along the inside, then drew almost even for command and faltered. GOLD BELL II. had no mishap. ALSAY raced wide .while making a late bid. BLAZING ROCKET weakened. The others were outrun. The rider of CHANCE DEB claimed a foul against the winner which was disailowed.
