OFF AT 2:02* CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won handily; second and third driving. MIZ ZARETA was under light wraps while racing close to the pace in the first half-mile, then moved to take command around the backstretch turn and was not in danger in the last furlong. FLYING REDBIRD made a good move after leaving the backstretch and, responding well in the stretch, raced gamely to the finish. PRESIDENT RYAN, an early trailer, became a factor in the stretch but hung near the end. FRAWLEY, prominent early, dropped back as if through, after going a half-mile, then came again while racing very wide in the stretch. GRAN was forced very wide in the stretch and finished strongly. JAMES T. was headed, by GREAT THREAT after going a quarter, then made a move at the latter on the inside around the far turn but was repulsed, but came-to the outside to take command entering the final furlong and had enough left to hold BARSHOE. The latter was never far removed and closed with good courage on the inside. GREAT THREAT displayed good speed in the going but found the distance a trifle too much. KIRK KRISS finished steadily. WITCH-ENGLISH was unable to keep up with the pace and went very wide in the stretch. MAM BO was not dangerous. WHAT A STEP went to the front early to sprint into a good lead and, racing as if much the best, was never, in danger, drawing away near the end. ANGEL BREATH moved up strongly on the outside after leaving the backstretch and while failing to threaten the leader was by far the best of the others. GINGER C. went to the front at once and although racing well in the going was headed by MISS EYEFUL after entering the stretch, then continued strongly to outfinish the latter. MISS EYEFUL was closest to the leader in the early part, moved to the front on the eutside in the last quarter, but faltered in the final drive. SUN JEEP moved up strongly on the outside of MARK QUESTION after entering the stretch and, taking command at midstretch, drew out thereafter. MARK QUESTION was sent into a good early lead but was no match for the winner when it came to a drive. ROCK DOZER met with slight interference soon after the start and dropped out of it, then made a belated move on the extreme outside in the stretch. OMYBOY passed tiring horses. STREAKING went to the front at once to open up a long lead in the first six furlongs, then resisted stubbornly when SITO challenged on the stretch turn and after a slight brushing match with the latter drew out again near the end. SITO made a bold bid on the outside of the leader around the stretch turn, but faltered in the final drive. BOOKWORM raced evenly, but failed to threaten for the leadership. MR.
