i A- - - GUARDIAN II. — Won the Cunningham Park Purse yesterday at Jamaica in his first outing of the New York season. Jet Action, Nance s Lad Each Pegged At 126 Pounds for Toboggan Handicap Former Doubtful Starter; * Joe Jones Gets Pound Less For Mondays Belmont Race JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 9.— Maine Chance Farms Jet Action and Hilton "Rabbit" Dabsons Nances Lad have been assigned equal topweight of 126 pounds in the 0,000 added Toboggan Handicap that opens the Belmont Park meeting on Monday. Jet Action, who seems to have completely lost his form, is a doubtful candidate for the six-furlong test on the Wid-ener straightaway, but Nances Lad worked down that chute for the race this morning. Racing secretary Jimmy Kilroe has weighted Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs Joe Jones one pound under the top pair with 125, while Gerald S. Colellas Switch On is next in line with 124. Joe Jones beat Switch On at Bowie when receiving 10 pounds and again at level weights, but has been racing over a distance, which was the case with Switch On at that time, the son of Condiment having won the McLennan at a mile I I and a furlong at Hialeah. Edward Seinfelds Admiral Vee, a vastly improved four-year-old who may have been a little lucky to beat Switch On last Saturday, is in here with 121 pounds. In Saturdays dash, Switch On was trying to concede five pounds and was blocked in the stretch, while Admiral Vee was steered to the outside turning for home and had clear sailing. Both horses are probable starters with Ted Atkinson again expected to ride Admiral Vee, who was claimed for only ,500 last winter, while Bobby Ussery will be on Switch On. Brookfield Farms speedy Impromptu, a somewhat doubtful prospect, has been given 119 pounds, one more than Albert J. Meslers War Command, who will be a running-mate for Admiral Vee if he goes postward. War Command finished fourth behind Admiral Vee, Switch On and Paper Tiger on Saturday after setting the pace to the final bend for home. He drops three pounds from this race. James Cox Bradys. Artismo, who has yet to make his seasonal debut but has been training well and is good when fresh, has 117 pounds, while Jack Amiels speedy Mr. Turf, easy winner of a swiftly run mile and a sixteenth last out, gets in with 116. Other possibilities for the Toboggan include Spring Hill Farms I Appeal, 115; Morris Sims Blessbull, Mrs. Ethel D.Jacobs Paper Tiger and Clearwater Stables Portersville, 113 each, and Brookmeade Stables swift mare, Gandharva, 112 pounds. Gandharva is in todays Correction Handicap at the same distance and not too likely to run back Monday. Mrs. Dodge Sloanes white and blue Brookmeade silks were carried successfully in last years Toboggan by Sailor, then a three-year-old, who was scoring his first .stakes triumph.
