TURFMEN ESCAPE INJURY BOWIE, Md., April 3. George Ogle and Jennings Smallwood narrowly escaped injury when the car in which they were driving to Baltimore after the last race Friday was struck by a speeding automobile. Smallwood stopped to avoid hitting a child on the highway and a fast approaching car driven by an unidentified negro struck their machine, upsetting it W. A. Shea and Greg Johnson driving immediately behind the Smallwood machine swerved out of the way in time. Smallwoods machine was wrecked and the driver of the car was removed to a local hospital, seriously injured.
