ROSEPATH was hustled into the lead soon after the start, set the pace under light restraint and, responding to a shaking up in the final quarter, won with something in reserve. EVENING GOWN broke slowly, was rushed into a contending position early, but could not threaten the winner. CAMP CRAIG broke well, dropped back soon after the start and made up some ground thereafter. CABLEGRAM, well up for most of the trip, held on gamely. RACKETEER improved his position after going a half mile and finished strongly. LIGHTIN BILL made up ground and closed strongly.
