LADY VALOROUS dropped many lengths back of the leaders while racing under restraint in the first half mile, but came to the outside on the stretch turn to make her run and, easily passing KEENE JACK in the stretch, won going away. KEENE JACK opened up a good lead after leaving the back stretch, but could not resist the winner. MADRONE closed much ground. WESTERN BOSS, HIGHMOST and PHONOLOGIST tired. DARK ACCENT raced to the front rounding the first turn and, saving ground, drew out to a good lead in the back stretch and was never threatened thereafter. ACHIEVE, always close up, stepped through on the rail in the back stretch when SILVER PALM and SUN SPICE raced wide and finished gamely, although 110 match for the winner. SUN SPICE raced a bit wide entering the back stretch, but came again and was going well at the end. REBUTTAL could never get to the leaders. WRACKFIELD raced wide entering the first turn and was never a contender thereafter. SILVER PALM raced wide all the way. Overweight Dark Accent, 2 pounds. NAPPUS was well rated in the early running and, coming gamely through the stretch, got to the front on the inside near the end to win going away. SWEET MAN was permitted to drop too far back of the leaders in the early stages and, coming fast on the outside through the stretch, finished gamely, although racing wide to get a dead heat for second place. SIR SATIN had good early speed and raced fairly well to the finish. BATTLING KNIGHT was forced to withstand too many challenges while setting the pace and tired in the stretch. BLINDFOLD made a number of moves under weak handling and tired near the end. IRON CLAW tired in the stretch. SILVER KIEV, close up at tho start, raced to the front around the stretch turn and, withstanding several challenges from HARDWARE in the stretch, won under urging. HARDWARE was always close up and raced gamely to the finish. INFERNO LAD raced wide most of the way. BAY SISTER was in close quarters while attempting to get through on the inside around the far turn, but got through on the stretch turn to loom up dangerously, only to tire near the finish. WAR GAMES was badly oturun early and made up some ground in the stretch. BONYNGE attempted to pull herself up soon after the start, but dashed to the front on the inside when righted, only to tire from her early efforts in the last quarter. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. NELLIE QUINCE showed a fairly good effort. PRIMROSE DAY was used up following THISTLE RAY in the first three-quarters and quit badly In the stretch. THISTLE RAY quit.
