REAPING REWARD IMPRESSES Shows Best Work of Mrs. Mars Four Chief Reliances for Texas and Kentucky Derbys. ARLINGTON, Texas, April 3. Reaping Reward, Case Ace, Jaw Breaker and Military, four of Mrs. Ethel V. Mars chief reliances for Texas and Kentucky Derby honors, served notice this morning that they were coming up to those two important engagements in fine style when they sped a mile and a sixteenth over a good track at Arlington Downs. Reaping Reward, one of the future book choices for the Kentucky classic, had Case Ace, the winner of the Arlington Futurity, as a companion and their trials were the best of the quartet. Reaping Reward; which broke three lengths back of Case Ace, was timed the distance in 1:50, and Case Ace covered it in 1:50. Well in hand throughout, Reaping Reward ran the quarter in :21, the half mile in :49, the three-quarters in 1:15, and the mile in 1:43. Case Aces fractions were :25, :50, 1:16, and 1:44. Jaw Breaker and Military went head and head throughout and encircled the mile and one-sixteenth track in 1:53. They were timed the quarter in :2i,k. the half mile in :50, the three-quarters in 1:16, and the mile in 1:46. Trainer Robert McGarvey was greatly impressed with the works. He has not decided what starters he will have in the Texas Derby, but is certain of sending an entry after the 5,000 added prize which will be offered Saturday, April 17. After that important fixture the Milky Way Farms Kentucky Derby eligibles will be shipped to Churchill Downs to receive their final preparation over the Kentucky Derby track.
