LEIGH EN ROUTE TO AURORA Racing Secretary Stops Off at Hot Springs to Witness Running of Arkansas Derby. HOT SPRINGS, Ark., April 3. Richard A. Leigh, racing secretary of the Fox Valley Jockey Club, was among the spectators at Oaklawn Park Saturday afternoon, to view the running of the second Arkansas Derby. Leigh stopped off in this famous health resort, en route to Aurora, 111., by motor, where he will take up his duties of allotting stalls and make preparations for the inauguration of the 1937 Illinois season. Leigh expressed enthusiasm over the prospects for the forthcoming meeting at the Fox Valley track, stating that applications for stall reservations have been pouring in during the past few weeks and every available stall will be occupied long before the scheduled opening of the Aurora track on May 1. Leigh will leave Hot Spring3 Sunday and expects to be at his office at the Aurora course Monday. General mr.nsger Robert S. Eddy, who completed his business at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans, after a most successful season, is slated to start for Illinois Sunday, according to Leigh.
