DESTROY STALLION DOMINANT Mrs. Payne Whitneys Noted Sire Falls and Breaks Shoulder at Greentree Farm. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 3. Mrs. Payne Whitneys noted stallion. Dominant, fell this morning while at exercise, broke his shoulder and was destroyed at Greentree Farm, near Lexington. Dominant was a brown horse, twenty-four years old, by Delhi Dominoes, by Domino, next dam imported Editha, by Master Kildare, and third dam Violet Melrose, by Scottish Chief. Dominant was a good race horse, winning the Saratoga Special, United States Hotel, Hopeful Stakes, etc. The best of his get were Dice winner Keene Memorial, Great American, Juvenile Hudson Stakes; Leopardess Bowie Inaugural, Dade Memorial, Kings County, Philadelphia, Momus, Wilton Handicaps, etc. ; Curacao Grab Bag, Miami Meach Handicaps, etc.; Tip Top, Jack Biener, Domnay, All Callao, Currants and others. The best producers among the daughters of Dominant were Bridgeen, dam of The Fighter, winner of the Texas Derby; Leopardess, dam of Jungle King, winner of the North American Steeplechase Handicap, etc. The only foal by Dominant at Greentree Farm this year is a colt from Prudish, own sister to Prudery, dam of Victorian, winner of the Spinaway, Miller, Grand Union, Alabama, Fashion, Rosedale Stakes, etc.; Whiskery, twelve wins and 08,565, including the Kentucky Derby, etc.; Halcyon, winner of the Jamaica, Queens County, twice, Pierre Pont, Continental Handicaps, etc.
