1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES f Dead Calm, which finished second to Grey Count in the Louisiana Derby, headed the useful stable J. R. Gregory brought from New Orleans. Dead Calm was named for the Texas Derby to be renewed Saturday, April 17. Former jockey Danny McAuliffe checked in from Miami and took over Flat Rock to train for his brother J. W. McAuliffe. R L. Anderson arrived with a lone candidate, and Ross Higdons trio, Squeezer, Daria and Good Cheer, joined the equine colony Friday.
