PREPARING AT BAY MEADOWS 0,000 Added Handicap to Be Feature of Coming Meeting. Expect San Mateo Course to Enjoy Good Weather During Session Publish Names of Officials. SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 3. With the opening of the Bay Meadows spring season less than four weeks away, William P. Kyne and his chief assistants this week began work on preliminary arrangements for what promises to be the San Mateo tracks best meeting. Indications are that Bay Meadows, which has had more than its share of rainy weather in previous seasons, will not only have ideal weather during the twenty-five day meeting opening April 24, but heavy patronage and play as well. Spring rains here have virtually reached the seasonal average already, and there appears little likelihood that Bay Meadows will suffer from unfavorable weather. Then, the surprisingly high average of business at Tanforan in the face of almost continuous rain is an indication of good business conditions in northern California and presages a record at the Bay Meadows mutuel windows. STAY FOR KYNE MEETING. Practically all of the leading stables now at Tanforan and Bay Meadows will remain to participate in Kynes meeting and with fourteen stakes scheduled for an average of nearly three a week, the grade of racing will surpass that of any former meeting. The fourth running of the Bay Meadows Handicap for a purse of 0,000 added will feature the season and it is expected to attract an outstanding field, including the brilliant Seabiscuit. The official family will be the same as served at the last meeting and is comprised of George W. Schilling, presiding steward; J. K. Macomber, steward representing the racing board; Peter Clark, associate steward; M. H. Morrison, placing judge and racing secretary; R. E. Leighninger, placing judge; J. C. McGill, paddock judge; George D. Murphy, clerk of scales, and Harry Mor-rissey, starter.
