POMOLA opened a tremendous lead soon after the start, was given a breather while on the backstretch, and then once again drew clear through the stretch, winning handily. SPERANZO moved into a contending position while on the backstretch and then flattened out. BUCKS FREEDOM raced in closest attendance most of the trip, but then tired. COPA-TIP was. - never a factor.
