Again II. Striving . For Repeat Victory Argentine-Bred Squares Off With Six Other Allowance Runners in Atlantic Feature ATLANTIC CITY, Mays Landing, N. J., Aug. 20. Jack S. Kroeses Argentine -bred Again II., who recently attained winning form after being a bit slow in coming to hand, will, endeavor to make it two straight local victories tomorrow afternoon when he tangles with six other members of the allowance ranks in the mile and one-sixteenth The Chief Purse. Standing in his path will be the following : Joe Gavegnanos Joey Boy and W. E. Browns Bank Coal, who will race coupled; I. J. Collins Common Cause; B. L. Williams Pass Play; R. B. Carrolls Saddle Tramp and Prisjoe Stables Nebullus. Again H. has come along splendidly of late and during the Monmouth meeting was third in the Long Branch and second in the Monmouth Handicaps. In the latter event he bowed by just a head to the good mare My Celeste. He was started but once locally and came from far off the pace to score a half-length victory over Joey Boy. Joey Boy Stumbled at Start Joey Boy was a trailer as co-favorite in the Monmouth, but had sufficient excuse in that one, having stumbled badly at the start. His effort behind Again n. here was a corker, but he picks up four pounds tomorrow, while the Argentine-breds increase is "only a pound. Bank Coal was also in the race won by Again II. and showed a good effort for about a mile, at which time he tired and finished fifth, beaten about three lengths. Common Cause is capable of giving the aforementioned trio a battle for the main share of the spoils, despite a burden of 121 pounds. His lone local outing was on the turf course and he was seventh behind Potpourri after racing on the outside throughout the mile and a sixteenth. He raced especially well at Delaware Park and may be partial to the main track. Pass Play won two consecutive races at Monmouth Park, then was shipped to New England for the Providence Stakes, in which he was fourteenth in the field of 16 three-year-olds. Another sophomore in tomorrows field is Nebullus, who was beaten but a length when third here behind Buck n. Gee in 1:45 flat. Saddle Tramp hasnt raced since winning a grass race, at Hialeah and may need a bit of conditioning. The supporting race on tomorrows card is a ,000 affair for three-year-olds and upward, to be contested over the six-furlong distance. Entered overnight are Land-seair, Banta, Influence, Gideon, Little Flirt H., Dandolo, Four Chances, Jungle Jag and Brook Prince.
