, , : ! State Fair Purse Draws Seven at Lincoln Track Miss Tigress, Vain Roy Clash Oyer Six and One-Half Furlongs By DEAN WILLIAMS Staff Correspondent LINCOLN, Nebr., Aug. 27. The State Fair Purse features Friday afternoons program here. The race is for three-year-olds and upward which have started for a claiming price of ,500 or less since July 20. The main event on the eve of closing has drawn seven "head, which are Boswell Queen, 110; Sammy G., 109; Miss Tigress, 115; T-Town Express, 112; Bosslemette, 113; Vain Roy, 120 and Firo Fire, 109. Three winners at the meeting would seem to lead the field. Vain Roy and Miss Tigress have both won at the six and a half furlong distance they will be asked to run Friday, while Boswell Queen won an allowance affair at five furlongs. Ray Danners good mare, Miss Tigress, was out of action for some time when she was injured at Madison, but returned to her winning ways in her last endeavor. She won this ,000 claiming affair by a head over Monte Pride. In her outing previous to this she was beaten a half length by the same horse she took the measure of in her last out. There is a great deal of early speed in this race, and it should give her usual late bid a better chance of leading her to the winners circle. Vain Roy turned in a sparkling performance in his last trip to the post when he turned in six and one -half furlongs in the fastest time yet hung up at the meeting, which was 1:21, one fifth of a second off the track record. He was much the best as he held a three-length margin over Firo Fire, one of the horses he will meet Friday. The Mert Johnson entry likes very much to go "a winging" in front, but the presence do, and may be the deciding factor ih the race. Honey-Kist took a sharp reversal in form Wednesday as she won the seventh race of the afternoon. The filly, who had been claimed at Washington Park in Chicago last year about this time for ,500, left nothing in doubt as she gained the lead rounding the first turn. Teal and Mac Galus were unable to seriously endanger G. R. Wynhoff s Quick Reward filly as they finished in that order at the" wire. Honey-Kist returned an ample 3.00 and turned in the five-furlong distance in the good itime of :57.
