Eight-Horse Field Goes In Vendome at Dade Park Fiye Winners-at Current Meet Are Included in Sprint Line-Up DADE PARK, Henderson, Ky., Aug. 27. The Vendome Purse, an annual feature at this track, headlines the program, here Friday afternoon. It is a six-furlong dash for three-year-olds and upward and brings together eight probable starters of which five have been successful during the current 29-day session. The Friday card will be the twenty-first day of the season, which promises to be the most successful since James C. Ellis, present owner, took over the course in the early 20s. The Vendome will be the fifth race and in addition to the entry of Omos Choice and Mr. A. K., others scheduled to face starter Reuben White in the dash are Pas Ring, Parkes Pick, English Man, Thoughtless and Forest Belle. Since the winners won the initial races of their careers here it may develop into a wide-open affair. Several intended starters have shown steady improvement as the season continues and under the weights, which are evenly balanced, one of the non-winners at this session could turn up the victor. Supporting the Vendome is the Appealing Purse, a five-furlong dash for two-year-old maidens. It drew 11 entrants, including entries from the James C. Ellis establishment and the partnership of Ingels and Smith. With the exception of the second race, all of the others are made up of small fields. Three distance races are billed. They are the final two at one mile and 40 yards, and the opener at one mile.
