Flydmanita After First Win of Year Mare Holds Tally In Princess Pat Suleiman, Hearts Away and War Work Among Six Gary Rivals at Washington Park WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, HI., Aug. 27. Seven seasoned sprinters, including Reverie Knoll Farms Flyamanita and J. J. Gregorys First Refusal, will contest the featured Gary Purse here Friday. Completing the field for the six-furlong ,000 purse are G. A. Cavanaughs Suleiman, A. F. Walls Hearts Away, Mrs. A. Bennetts War Work, Red Top Farms Gap, and Emil Denemarks Robert. Suleiman, Hearts Away and War Work each have sprint victories to show for their last effort, and Flyamanitas most recent race was good for scecond. Flyamanita, who captured the 1950 Princess Pat Stakes during her promising juvenile campaign, has failed to visit the winners circle in eight starts this year. Her best has been four seconds in good sprint company," two of which were here. She finished second to Parading Lady in the Correction Handicap at Jamaica. The daughter of Petrose Jakbvia has been assigned 109 for the Gary, and will be ridden by Gerald Porch. Church on Suleiman Suleiman will be handled by Ken Church, who has been in charge of the six-year-old son of Mahmoud Blue Denim the last three times out. The gray veteran has been asked to pack 111 pounds. Following a fair late winter and spring campaign, Suleiman, failed to finish in the money until his last and only start here. Hearts Away, five-year-old son of Seven Hearts Piety, will be under 111 pounds, too. He will have Eldon Nelson in the saddle. The Wall sprinters recent win here was his first start since late April at Churchill Downs and his only first this year. War Work also has the tentative services of Nelson and the weight here is 106. Last weeks win was the only money effort in three trips to the post here this year. The five-year-old War bog Maryan D. mare has been campaigned very lightly, having had only one start at Arlington last year, and three at Homewood this year. Stop Gap, the five-year-old Grand Slam Isleborough gelding, gets 106 pounds for the Gary, taking advantage of the allowance that goes with apprentice J. Ralph Adams. He finished fifth behind Oh Leo in a fast six-furlong affair Monday, and was second and fourth in two grass sprints here earlier. Robert, four-year-old Whirlaway Tacky Sue gelding, was ninth in Oh Leos Monday win. It was his first outing since April at Keeneland, where he failed to earn anything in two appearances. Johnny Heck-mann will be astride Robert and the weight will be 114 pounds. First Refusal is another who accepted dirt from Oh Leo the other afternoon. The heavily-raced son of Discovery Balking wound up eighth. After taking two successive sprints early in the Arlington session, the four-year-old colt ran out there the next two times and failed in one Fairmount start. The veteran Steve Brooks will be astride First Refusal for the Gary, and the weight has been set at 111.
